Poor Justin! xD #notswaggie!
So I haven’t done a WWE Review in well, ever, so I thought as a WWE smark, I’d give it a go. Putting aside my knowledge of wrestling, as a fan, I can say I was entertained by Wrestlemania, and definitely appreciated all the fireworks and performances, so… ONTO THE SHOW!
Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Championship
Wrestlemania opened for the second consecutive year with a World Heavyweight Title Match. I actually thought the Team Johnny/Team Teddy match would kick things of, so I was naturally curious as to who Daniel Bryan pissed off in the back or who got injured. My suspicions were only confirmed with a 14 second (?) match. This is appalling, and unless the WWE has a story line reason for this, (of which may not even be that great) it makes their top Smackdown heel look like a joke. To give it more perspective on how bad this is, a World Championship match was overshadowed by a Diva’s match, Brodus Clay with his Momma and the Bridge club, Heath Slater, and the two performances before Rock vs. Cena. Nonetheless a Sheamus title run gives a fresh new face to the belt, and maybe new feuds (please be Cody Rhodes…)
Your winner, and NEW World Heavyweight Champion?

Randy Orton vs. Kane
The second match, I also was wrong about, was actually Orton vs. Kane. I figured this match would possibly be higher on the card, as Orton is a big draw for the WWE, and I also naturally assumed Kane would be buried in another cookie cutter Orton win. The guys hit some of their signature moves, but with nothing on the line, and no proper WrestleMania build, I felt this was a match that had no purpose or legitimate back story, where I could think, as a fan, “Orton’s gotta beat Kane in this match.” It felt more like a “get it over with” kind of deal, where they showed up, and phoned it in the whole match. I did like the surprise finish with Kane winning via Chokeslam off of the top ropes CLEAN. This is a biggie, because much like John Cena, nowadays Orton does not do the job clean to many superstars. The first member of the “Breakfast Club” [As named by the Schlegdaddy, and the OffTheRopesshow on Youtube, consisting of John Cena, Randy Orton and Triple H, who seem to run the matches backstage) of the night to lose a match. Interesting how they all lost tonight… But I digress.
Winner of this match:

Cody Rhodes vs. Big Show for the Intercontinental Championship
The next match was Cody Rhodes vs. Big Show for the Intercontinental Championship. I was grateful that this was not the match to end in a few seconds, as the Bryan/Sheamus match did, and I’m hoping this loss means that Cody will possibly be focusing on the World Title (which is the true purpose of the IC Title, to push guys to main event status). I liked short bits in the match, though the ending looked slightly botchy, (and painful!) with Cody dropping the belt to Big Show. Some decent ring work, but a far cry from last year’s WrestleMania where they put Big Show in a dreadful match that lasted a bit longer than the average bathroom break, and Cody had an impressive match against Rey Mysterio. And just the fact that the Intercontinental Title was defended at WM (for some reason, I feel like it’s been some time since a WM IC title match) was a treat. This win backs up Big Show’s ability, having him shine in the bright lights, while possibly putting Cody over for bigger things. I like the finish for making possibly new feuds, that is, if the WWE is up for that…
Your NEW Intercontinental Champion:

Beth Phoenix and Eve vs. Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos
I must say, off the bat, that I usually see Divas matches as terrible, bland and bathroom breaks. However, I was pleasantly surprised by Kelly Kelly’s performance (probably because she was in her home state), able to use the Houston Hangover and a reversal. I did appreciate Maria Menounos actually wrestling, despite possibly being legit injured, and she sold pretty well. Despite the usual antics (the female Stinkface) the Divas usually have in their matches, I did enjoy this one for a change. Beth Phoenix still looked dominant in a loss, though Eve didn’t play a larger role in this match, probably setting up for later on. Easily the best Diva’s match in a while that I’ve seen.
Winners in this match:

Triple H vs. The Undertaker
A Taker match is always like a late Christmas gift, for the guy who plays Santa every year, appearing each year to defend his streak. I loved the decision, Triple H looked dominant, but this time around, Taker did not look as feeble and weak (though in the beginning of the match, Michaels played this very well). HBK was a nice touch to the match, as he could’ve went either way for the match, but instead got hit by both competitors in calling the match fairly. While it was odd to have a Divas match precede a great match like this, such is the WWE. A good story was told in the ring, so much that I could put aside the finish, and that I’d already seen this bout before. Though people may have been annoyed, I liked HBK being in the match just because rest spots can be dull, and he filled it with his sometimes over the top antics, to where you didn’t know if he was going to kick someone just to end the match. A solid match and win for The Undertaker, and a good show of respect by the old guard. (Second member of the Breakfast Club down!)
Possibly for the last time, your winner is:

Team Teddy vs. Team Johnny
With a finish that I didn’t see coming, I don’t know whether this win was mainly to solidify Zack Ryder as a face, Eve as a heel, or Miz as a competitor. And Johnny, the poor guy looked more like he was going to prom than WrestleMania. A typically worked match, but one highlight being the triple somersault off the ropes, (a nice spot, I have to admit) it felt like a break between the long matches, but I almost feared the matches would take away time from the WWE Championship match, because well, look at what happened with their World Title Match… I’m guessing this was a payday match for the guys, and a good win by one of my boys, The Miz. But Eve is still a Hoeski, mark my words.
Winner(s)? for tonight’s match:

Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk
Through most of the WrestleMania, I was able to casually talk through most of the matches, but I was genuinely hopeful that we would see two prime guys give a performance akin to say a Lesnar vs. Angle, where no corners were cut, and the men just gave it their best in a great showing. This was not it. By this card’s standards, yes it was one of the top matches, but I found while watching intently, that I was looking for a big spot, and it seemed that Jericho and Punk brought out their same moves, with some finisher reversals. The technical work was there, just not enough flavoring in the steak to make it memorable. Also, while it was great to see CM Punk win tonight as a Punk fan, will he still feud with Jericho, or move on to other competitors, and on the flip side, what’s there for Jericho to do with this loss? I mean, if he came back to lose to CM Punk, I can only think that WM 29 will be bigger for Jericho, and that he may face an even greater opponent. That is, again if the WWE is also thinking along these lines.
Still the WWE Champion and winner of this match:

John Cena vs. The Rock
Despite my earnest intentions to watch this match and root for Cena, I found myself at the edge of my seat, not caring who won, so long as the match was good. The pre-performances were decent, though I did appreciate MGK’s little speech, which I thought was sheer irony, as not only did Cena lose, the WWE fanbase considered for the most part that John Cena would win. The year previous, John Cena, I could care less about him, he was always there, and always had the WWE Title. Once he began programs with The Rock and CM Punk I felt that small tinge of when Rock left. Anyone in their right mind would’ve, that is understandable, but he did try to distance himself from the WWE, became Dwayne and not The Rock, so when he came back I figured it would be to promote the WWE. This match is controversial in my heart because last year, it almost did feel like The Rock returned to promote his movies and Twitter account. It’s hard not to feel that way when right before Cena vs. Rock, you’ve got a G.I Joe commercial airing, and The Rock is ranting in promos about Twitter trends. Some feel The Rock took someone’s spot on WM, made it about himself, and what not. While it could have been about The Rock, and a business decision, it was a good decision. People who could care less about John Cena and the WWE watched, and probably bought this year’s WrestleMania to see The Rock win. The downside to this is that John Cena plain sucks in the ring. With him, there’s no ring chemistry, no doubt as to whether he’ll lose, and up until (possibly) now, no reason for him to change things up. How in the heck do you root for a guy who is always on time for work, but stinks at what he does? Considering the promos, I had to take Cena’s with a grain of salt. While what he was saying was true about The Rock, he never (nor did Rock) explain why Rock was there, which is simple. The WWE’s top guys cannot draw ratings, so they had to bring in guys like Jericho and Rock, because they’re still over with the fans, they still put butts in seats. Orton and Cena, for all they are worth, to this day cannot compare to Rock or Austin, heck I’d even say Punk would be a mid-carder to that star power. While I partly blame Linda McMahon, and the PG Era, Cena is also partly to blame for his refusal to listen to legitimate fan gripes. Change your repetoire, stop winning so damn much, and in a typical fashion. Also, you make your opponent look like a joke when he’s cutting a promo on you, while you smirk and smile at him. In this feud, it was hard to get into the promos because Rock was never serious, and Cena was always serious. When Rock was, he was breaking kayfabe, and Cena came off as a rebellious teenager. It was never good business to have The Rock promo Cena without allowing him to use his material and talking points (of which I’m sure he has plenty of), while Cena, at points seemed to be shooting and breaking down the Rock character itself. The WWE thrives on suspending disbelief, but that’s hard to do, when the top guy is making peepholes in the wall, no? I digress. Both of these men, I felt had a M.O in this match, but I felt Cena needed to win this match, which is likely why he lost.
Taking it out of the wrestling concept, merely the simple fact that John Cena would lose to someone who hadn’t wrestled in seven years appalled me. However, this loss is not the fault of the people, nor Rock, but the WWE and Cena for making him this unstoppable Super Cena who steamrolled everyone. While I was initially upset, the loss finally dawned on me: John Cena is a team player, and not only did he let the better guy win, he may have also considered the WWE Universe. Almost every casual fan wanted Rock to win, and they got their wish. With the loss, Cena proves he’s flawed, and can go back to the drawing board for his character. I honestly don’t mind his shirts or ring attire, so I could care less if he launches about ten new rainbow colors a year, it’s merely an extension of him being the top draw for the company. Cena simply can’t go back to business after this, because he lost a biggie, and if he does, I for one will be seriously cheezed.
The match was, if given a rating, 3 out of 5. Both competitors at times looked legitimately out of breath, there were some slow spots, and I’m almost positive there were some still hits in that match, if John Cena’s face is any indication. Cena himself, at the beginning of the match looked as if he just learned the result of the match, made a sour face, and no sold plenty of Rock’s moves, while running around all giddily. If not for Rock hitting his finisher, I saw Cena with an arrogant smirk on his face, almost in a heel manner. I’m also torn whether Cena or Rock kept botching Rock Bottoms, as neither seemed to perform professionally as a whole. However, just for that ending, I give kudos to the WWE. Most of WrestleMania surprised me, as did this match, and it was worth the surprise to see Cena down, and bewildered, while The Rock celebrated, because while at the end, we got the panning of Rock to end the show, I know I was thinking, “What’s next for John Cena?”
Winner, and still the People’s Champion:

R&R if ya like!
First off, I’d like to say, regardless of the bickering and anger between the Creddie and Seddie, we’re ALL iCarly fans. We’re like family, dudes! Why are we fighting?!?
Even as a Cam fan, it is obvious one suitor for Freddie has been decided and it IS Sam. Dan made iStart a Fanwar to let us all down, so iOMG could be much awesomer for Seddie fans, and be a softer blow to Creddie. I think we all are overreacting now.
Seddie fans: NOT EVERY EPISODE NEEDS SEDDIE. After a week, you usually come to realize this, but episodes are funny without Sam glancing over at Freddie, touching him, purple, and what not.
Creddie fans: Cam fans are in the same boat with you; Dan hardly acknowledges us, but we still watch. Don’t be disheartened, and love the show for what it is. Just, don’t expect for Creddie, as I fear that will lead to a letdown. I only expect Dan trying for a jealousy angle, of which I wouldn’t like.
Seddie and Creddie fighting, like in iStill Psycho, does not amuse Cam shippers. We’re literally stuck in the middle of two best friends of ours fighting over a boy. In the fandom, the same exact metaphor can be used. I like fans of iCarly whether, black, white, old or young, and we can all get along.
Don’t we all, in the end, love iCarly??? Not iSeddie, or iCam, or iCreddie???
What do you guys think?
